200 Hour B-1 Yoga Teacher Training
B-1 Yoga is recognized as a Registered Yoga School (RYS) by the Yoga Alliance.
Whether you are looking to teach yoga, deepen your understanding of yoga, or maybe transform yourself personally, teacher training is the perfect stepping stool in this journey. Our 200-hour program specializes in the physical science and anatomy behind modern yoga and how to deliver safe and effective yoga to all. We also provide you with a full understanding of the ancient practice and philosophy behind yoga.
In the process, this program will allow you to discover your inner power and challenge yourself in ways you have never been challenged. Some will find themselves full time or part time yoga instructors while others might apply yoga practices to different aspects of their family life and work place. The experience is a foundation of knowledge and information as well as a potential journey to personal growth and spiritual change.

Our teacher training instructors:
Jaime Ellery, LMT, CCT, RYT
Jaime Ellerie was born and raised in Dubuque Iowa and graduated from Hempstead High School. After graduation she lived in Iowa City for five years, returning home to go to massage therapy school in 2000. At this time Jaime also completed her first yoga teacher training with internationally acclaimed yoga master Ana Forrest. Upon graduating from Capri College of massage Jaime jumped right into full-time massage therapy and yoga instruction.
From 2001-2005 she opened and co-owned Pure Prana Yoga where she taught yoga and treated massage clients. From 2005-2014 Jaime set out for an adventure! She traveled the world and worked both as a massage therapist and a yoga instructor in Mexico, Southeast Asia (including the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Cambodia), Alaska, and back to Mexico again!
After many years away from family, it was time to return home to Dubuque, IA. Fifteen years of working with her hands had taken its toll. Jaime started searching for modalities of massage that would not involve so much stress on her own body. In 2015 Jaime traveled to San Antonio, Texas and received a certification in ASHIATSU massage. When she returned home she felt so strongly about the therapeutic benefits of this work that she quit her job and started practicing ASHI full time.
Jaime also teaches weekly yoga classes at B-1, and is a leader of our Yoga Teacher Training Program specializing in anatomy and safe yoga practices.

Cally Burkle, E-RYT
Cally started practicing yoga in 2006 to supplement her running routine. She found herself intrigued by the shift in her performance and strength. That same year while traveling to visiting a college friend in Phoenix Arizona (of all places!) she took her first Bikram (Hot Yoga) class and loved it. She came home and starting practicing the same 90 minute 105 degree structured class whenever she could find the time. In 2008 she went to a Core Power Yoga class and found the vinyasa hot yoga experience to be her new love and almost daily routine.
In the Spring of 2013, after coming back from a rejuvenating retreat in Koh Samui, Thailand, she decided leave her fast paced life in Chicago and return to Iowa to teach yoga. She enrolled and completed a 200 hour power yoga teacher training class at Core Power Yoga. Shortly after she purchased the building at 185 Main Street in Dubuque and opened B-1 Yoga in April of 2014.
Cally is from Dyersville and as a young child did her first headstands, handstands, and backbends at the Debbie Moser School of Dance. She practiced, competed, and performed gymnastics up until high school. She graduated from Beckman High School in 1991 and has a degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Iowa.
Prior to B-1 Yoga she was a residential real estate agent in Chicago for 10 years. Cally sometimes misses her city life but enjoys being back home in Iowa teaching yoga and being near her 8 nieces and nephews, 3 siblings, 2 parents and 50 first cousins.
"YTT at B-1 was an incredible experience. With each passing week, our group grew closer and closer into a tight-knit community. We watched each other learn, grow, and deepen into ourselves, and into our yoga practices.
One of the strengths of the B-1 YTT program is that you have the opportunity to learn from some of the best teachers in town. Cally makes sure to bring in a variety of instructors throughout the training, so you have the opportunity to learn about yoga/aspects of yoga from many different people. Each person brings their own insights, strengths, and unique point of view. This gives you the chance to find someone you connect with in the yoga world, who you can perhaps form a relationship with and learn even more from, beyond the 200 hours of the training program.
I wasn't sure what to expect at the beginning of the experience, but I came out of the YTT program utterly transformed. It was worth all of the time, money, and energy spent. I am so grateful that I was able to complete my 200 hours at B-1!"
